Town of Eventide

TOWN OF EVENTIDE
. . . a simple little town

jump to...
Town Square. Main Street. Uptown.
Residential Area. Downtown. Outskirts.

TOWN SQUARE
The heart of Eventide.

TOWN HALL
Every event of importance is held in the Hall.

THE SQUARE

A large, rather ugly patch of concrete and stone with a few worn looking benches. In the middle is a brass plaque with an old English proverb about equality.

CAFE BEAU

As the name suggests Café Beau is a pretty, quaint little café in the middle of the town. It doesn’t get many customers, but their coffee is pretty standard. Still, its better than nothing. The owner, Marcel, only speaks French, however, and may have a habit of messing up your order.

THE STICKS

The actual name of the quaint little pub on the edge of the square is a long lost memory. Everyone knows it as The Sticks because of the signage outside... or rather, the lack of. All that remains of the old sign that bore the pub's name are the poles that held it twelve feet off the ground.

-----------------------------

MAIN STREET
There is one main road into the town, and one main road out. Main Street runs straight through the middle of Eventide, from end to end. All the major stores, shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, etc can be found along this street.

IMPERIAL
A second hand shop characterized by it's bright painted exterior and the assorted, exotic looking knicknacks that hang from the ceiling and roof beams. Eventide residents can testify to the fact that even the strangest and rarest of things could be found hidden somewhere in Imperial's decorative walls. The shop has closed since Matilda's dissapearance.

SLACKS
This venue is a restaurant featuring pricey yet delicious food for the perfect date, such as Coconut Curry Shrimp Penne and Lemon Pepper Chicken Linguini. If you're feeling less classy, and perhaps just want a martini, head over to the bar. Not only will the DJ be spinning some hot stuff, but the martinis are to die for.

THE BLUE MARKET
The Blue Market is the largest and most popular convenience store in all of Eventide.

MAIN STREET DINER
The diner on Main Street is a friendly, cozy place to unwind and enjoy a hearty home cooked meal. They serve every meal of the day and some, all with clever titles that are references, mostly, to the Eventide Town history. It's also a place you can come for quality, cooked-with-care food for a low price. Generally, it's hangout to most of the residents, so you'll see just about everyone you know, and don't know, pass through here sometime.

ALCOTT THEATER
Have a night out at the movies at the Alcott. It's a small, local theatre, but it does show newly released movies, with days specifically for other events, such as independent movie night on Wednesday, couple discounts on Thursday, Ladies Night with free admission on Friday and Gents Night on Saturday.

ORANGE CENTRE
Orange Centre is the only mall in Eventide. Naturally, that would make it a popular tourist attraction and with those visiting, and Eventide residents. There are about 30 stores, spread out over two levels, for limitted, yet hopefully satisfying, shopping possibilities. Just don't get lost in the midst of all that shopping excitement.

ON THE RECORD
On The Record is the local music store. Don't let the appearance fool you, it may be an easy to miss building, but the creative decorations, able to take you through many of the golden eras of music all the way up to the new stuff, will keep you fascinated enough to come back, time and time again. There are vinyl records, and players, cassettes, and the more modern compact discs both new and used.

VINTAGE
A bar famous for their infamous weekly contests, as well as their gorgeous bar tenders and patrons. Both bars have enormous flat screens for your viewing pleasure, as well as extensive pool tables and on-tap domestic and international ales to quench your thirst. Don't forget to tip your bartender.

NOT A LIBRARY
One of the best book stores in the area. The shop carries all the latest and best in all genres of literature. There is a space above the shop available for rent for poetry readings, author visits, etc. Check out the store for local authors as well.

-----------------------------

UPTOWN
The schools, the parks, the daycare center; any traditional Eventide family is familiar with the uptown area.

EVENTIDE HIGH SCHOOL
The modest population of Eventide doesn't demand much in way of school size, but Eventide high school nonetheless delivers more than asked. One a soaring cathedral, Eventide High School is large gothic stone building that looks ancient outside but has been renovated with all modern requirements on the inside. The school caters to grades nine through twelve and and offers a whole host of after school clubs and sports, usually held in Evenside Park, a block away.

EVENTIDE MIDDLE SCHOOL
Eventide middle school can be found about two blocks away from the high school. It's a small building that caters to grades six through eight. Often time particularly bright or excelled students can take advanced classes at the high school.

EVENTIDE ELEMENTARY
Eventide Elementary is a large, fenced in building with a spacious playground at it's back. It's nestled just on the edge of Evenside Park and it's grades range from kindergarten to fifth.

SMALL TREASURES DAYCARE
Your child is paramount at Small Treasures Daycare and located just across the street from Eventide Elementary with services that include picking your child up from school to walk them to the center, it's the perfect place for late working parents to leave their children. Small Treasures is also the perfect after-school job for high school students.

LITTLE GIFTS TOYSTORE
Affiliated with Small Treasures, Little Gifts is a small store that stands to the right of the daycare and is the perfect place to pick up any kind of toy from high tech robo-dogs to hand crafter rag dolls and painted wooden soldiers.

EVENSIDE PARK
Somewhere in the middle of all the uptown area is a patch of land, completely devoid of any building. Instead, it’s filled with man-made flower beds and hedge rows, little ponds and weathered benches. Right in the middle of it all is a small playground, used by the local tots on a daily basis.

-----------------------------

RESIDENTIAL AREA
The town of Eventide offers three diverse living opportunities that cater to people in all walks of life from the family walk to the independent liver.

WINDSOR SQUARE
Most of the community's Victorian style houses can be found here. While it is a perfect picture of suburban living to it's finest, the cost is quite expensive. Every house is usually equipped with three, or more, bedrooms, and spacious living, kitchen and dining areas. It is the ideal residential space for a family, or those couples interested in staring a family.

NORTH RIVER CHASE
Less expensive than owning a house, townhouses may just be the next best thing. Sure, you'll be living connected to your next door neighbors, but they offer from one to three rooms in each townhouse. There is basically the comfort of a house, with less expensive rent, though townhouses tend to accommodate the wealthy and the middle class, so if you're not willing to spend a pretty penny, then North River Chase probably wouldn't be the best place to settle.

SUMMERWOOD PLACE
Summerwood are high-rise style apartments, consisting of six floors with apartments varying from bachelor, with one bedroom, or delux with two bedrooms. The living rooms are spacious, yet the kitchens are only big enough for two people, when they stand still. The laundry room is located on the first floor, for use to any apartment tenant.

-----------------------------

DOWNTOWN
The closest thing that Eventide has to a metropolitan setting and not the area of town that parents want their young children venturing down into alone.

PAYDEN HOTEL
The only hotel in the town, the next closest short-stay accommodation being in one of the nearby larger cities. It’s run by a local family and has been in their ownership for generations. It’s small, but comfortable, and welcoming to anyone and everyone.

BERNEN CAFE
Bernen Cafe has the best coffee in the district. Of course, if you don't support the local Starbucks, you head here. Hidden down a small side street, and with a dark ambience, Bernen's is a perfect place for a first date or a cup of coffee after a movie. Not only is the service excellent, but the sandwiches are to die for, and there's always someone playing acoustic guitar in the corner.

REDLIGHT INK PARLOR
This tattoo parlor has been in downtown Eventide for a couple of years and has a growing reputation for having some artistically creative and skilled professionals. One would never know, judging by the small parlor decorated in black and red. Along with tattoos, they also do piercings of, generally, all kinds, just remember that tattoos and piercings aren't for the weak of heart - no one wants to sweep you up off the floor.

THE VANILLA ROOM
The Vanilla Room is one of the only clubs in town. There are no bouncers at the doors, thus allowing almost anyone to get inside. But the bartenders are very strict with who they serve. The club is fitted with raised platforms for dancing, and decked out with florescent yellow-tones lights. All kinds of music is played here, and it is all about the dancing.

PJ'S POOL HALL
A smokey little hole in wall that's a popular hang-out spot for older teens and younger adults. Open from eight PM until three AM, PJs offers a large number of open pool tables, a snack bar, and even sells the ocassional beer if you have suitable identification. Smoking is allowed, just don't make any trouble. PJ is a big guy.

ALCOVE SPA
Need a way to unwind after a stressful work day, week or even month? If you have the money to afford the expenses, make an appoint at alcove spa, a place that provides a host of treatments designed for men and women searching for the ultimate urban day spa. Yes, they'll pamper you like the prince or princess that you are. What more could you ask for?

-----------------------------

THE OUTSKIRTS
The edges of the town of Evetide, just beyond the last house, shop, and restaurant.

THE FARMS
These are located all east and south outskirts of the town, they vary in size and type of crop, but all help out in the town's community.

YELLOW PINE WOOD
The dense woods that at the eastern edge of the town almost seem to cut it off from the rest of the world. A clear water river runs through its heart and here and there are old caves and caverns, mostly shrouded by the overgrowth.

LLANFAIR CATHEDRAL
A creepy place, full of old legends of ghosts and murders. It is currently abandoned, but kids often go there for "tests of courage". The location of one of the three gateways between Earth and The Craftlands.
